School profile

Het Gerrit van der Veen College is de havo & vwo school voor creatief talent in Amsterdam en omstreken. We zijn een cultuurprofielschool. Dit betekent dat kunst en cultuur bij ons belangrijk is. In de eerste twee leerjaren krijgen leerlingen les in al onze kunstvakken. In de bovenbouw kunnen leerlingen examen doen in theater, muziek of beeldend. Naast de drie cultuurprofielklassen hebben we twee kunst+ klassen. Deze klassen zijn bedoeld voor sterk gemotiveerde leerlingen. Hiervoor doen leerlingen audities. Samen met het Sweelinck College en het Zuiderlicht College bundelen we onze krachten om in de toekomst een brede school te vormen voor creatief en uitdagend onderwijs. We werken hiervoor nauw samen met culturele instellingen, de creatieve sector en andere bedrijven waardoor je optimaal kansen en mogelijkheden krijgt om je breed te ontwikkelen
