Als je intelligent, nieuwsgierig en leergierig bent, dan is een categoriaal gymnasium een kans om je op hoog niveau te ontwikkelen. Het Cygnus Gymnasium in Amsterdam-Oost is een jong en ambitieus gymnasium dat vanuit klassieke cultuur en traditie, binnen een didactisch concept van nu onderwijs biedt aan de wereldburgers en wetenschappers van morgen. Het Cygnus is een school waar je je gemakkelijk thuis voelt, ongeacht je achtergrond of afkomst. De gemene deler is dat je vooruit wilt en kunt. Maar dan heb je ook alle ruimte om je geest in tal van richtingen te scherpen en op persoonlijk vlak een ontwikkeling door te maken die beslissend is voor de rest van je leven. Het Cygnus Gymnasium stimuleert dit met een onderwijsprogramma waarbij de lat hoog ligt en er veel ruimte is voor experiment en eigen inbreng. Een voorbeeld hiervan is de coproductie met de Nationale Opera, waarbij Cygnianen libretto, decor, techniek, kostuums en orkest voor hun rekening namen. Ook de samenwerking met de bètafaculteit van Universiteit van Amsterdam op het gebied van astronomie is tekenend voor de gretigheid van dit gymnasium, dat ook kan bogen op uitstekende eindexamenresultaten.
