De 5e Montessorischool Watergraafsmeer (5mw) is een school van ongeveer 650 leerlingen verdeeld over 23 groepen. We zijn gehuisvest in een gebouw dat in 2012 tot mooiste schoolgebouw van Amsterdam benoemd is. Onze missie is: Bouwen aan relaties. We geven daarmee aan dat het in ons onderwijs draait om relaties tussen mensen. Bij goede relaties in school gaat het ons met name om: waardering, inlevingsvermogen, betrouwbaarheid, gelijkwaardigheid en het beheersen van sociale vaardigheden. We zien onze school als een werkgemeenschap van kinderen en volwassenen. Daarbinnen willen we werken vanuit vier gemeenschappelijke morele waarden: vertrouwen, vrijheid, verantwoordelijkheid en verbondenheid.
